Advisor to President of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Pays a Visit for Exchange

At the noon of May 22, Mr. Orly, advisor to President and Director of Asian Affairs of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and visited our School and was received by Ouyang Xiaoling, deputy leader of the preparation work group of School of Advanced Agriculture in President’s Office Building.
During the meeting, Prof. Ouyang sent her warm welcome to the visiting delegation, followed by a brief review of the existing exchange and cooperation between School of Advanced Agriculture and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, expressing her expectations for further cooperation with the latter. The visiting delegates thanked the School authorities for the warm reception and agreed with the statements. China and Israel are enjoying close ties, with the two governments actively promoting bilateral cooperation, of which education cooperation is of key value. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem expressed willingness for intensified exchanges with Peking University.
Meetings with students planning to attend summer school in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem were also arranged for the delegates, with discussions on relevant issues.
7. Leader of Preparation Work Group for School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences Visits Israel
From June 20-24, 2015, Prof. Deng Xingwang, Leader of the Preparation Work Group of School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences and Mr. Gao Song, Vice President of Peking University led a delegation for visits to Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University, Israel.
On the 24th, the delegation visited Tel Aviv University and met with President Joseph Klafter, who expressed welcome to the delegation and introduced the basic information and discipline characteristics of Tel Aviv University. Prof. DanielChamovitz, Dean of George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University and Prof. Deng Xingwang, Dean of School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking University reached consensus on the collaboration in creating Peking University-Tel Aviv University Joint Center for Food Security, which aims at facilitating intensive research on subsistence agriculture and cross-disciplinary research on advanced agriculture. Vice President Gao Song signed Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Peking University-Tel Aviv University Joint Center for Food Security on behalf of Peking University.
